Each of these works started with a length of sheer, stretchy fabric, doubled over, and grommeted in the corners of the fold. I then added a scattering of smaller grommets to both the front and back layers. Hanging the folded fabric from two nails, I then built up an interior structure/composition using fabric and dowels hinged with screw eyes (using the smaller grommets as compositional guides as well as points of attachment). In each case, the pieces are only supported by the two grommets hanging from the nails. Everything else depends on gravity and the tensile strength of the fabric to maintain its form.
