The four pieces in this section are, like those in the previous section, made from sheets of insulating foam into which plaster has been cast. Here, though, the plaster has been poured into channels routed into the surface of the foam, and in the case of 8.1 and 8.3, the foam has then been selectively cut away to allow the cast plaster to stand alone. In all cases, the plaster connects at points through the piece, enabling the plaster to hold the foam sheets together like a plaster paperclip. 8.3 was made in two pieces that then slot together.
